What is the Value Bet Finder?
Think of the Value Bet Finder as your truth-teller. Bookmakers set odds that often hide their profit margin, which means you might be taking a bad deal. This tool shows you the real long-term value of a bet by comparing the bookmaker’s odds (their implied probability) against your own estimated probability. If your chance is higher than theirs, you have found a value bet.
This is not magic; it is math. You are simply calculating the Expected Value (EV), the average amount you expect to win or lose per bet over countless trials. A positive EV means long-term profit. That is the goal.
Step-by-Step Guide: How to Spot a Value Bet
Using the calculator is a quick, four-step process.
Step 1: Set Your Currency and Stake
- Select Currency: Choose your local currency (e.g., ₦, $, £, €) from the dropdown list. This sets the format for your results.
- Enter Stake Amount (Optional): Input the amount you plan to bet. If you leave this blank, the calculator only shows the percentage-based Expected Value (EV%). If you enter a stake, it also shows your potential profit in your chosen currency.
Step 2: Choose Your Odds Format
- Select Format: Click the button corresponding to the odds format you are reading on the bookmaker’s site:
- Decimal: Most common in Europe/Australia (e.g., 2.50).
- American: Used in the US (e.g., +150 or -200).
- Fractional: Common in the UK (e.g., 3/2).
- The placeholder text in the next input box updates to show you the correct example format.
Step 3: Input the Odds and Your Probability
- Bookmaker’s Odds: Enter the precise odds offered by the bookmaker for your specific bet. Use the format you selected in Step 2.
- Example: If you chose Decimal, enter 2.50.
- Your Estimated Probability (%): This is the crucial, personal number. Based on your research (team form, injuries, historical data), what percentage chance do you honestly give your selection?
- Example: If you think the team has a 55% chance of winning, enter 55.
Step 4: Click ‘Find Value’ and Check the Results
- Click the Button: Press the Find Value button. The results section appears below the input form.
- Check Value Status: Look at the main status box first. It will clearly state:
- ✓ VALUE BET FOUND! (Positive EV)
- ✗ NO VALUE (Negative EV)
