Switch to the Calculator tab (default view) for the three most common percentage questions.
1. What is X% of Y? (Basic Percentage) 🎯
This is your classic discount calculator or sales tax tool.
- Example: You see a $200 jacket with a 15% discount. How much money do you save?
- Action: Enter the percentage (i.e. 15%) in the first box and the total amount (200) in the second box.
- Result: The tool tells you the value that equals 15% of 200. (The answer is 30, meaning you save $30).
2. X is what % of Y? (Find Percentage) 🤔
Perfect for checking your test score or seeing what portion of your budget a bill takes up.
- Example: You got 30 correct answers on a 200-question quiz. What is your score?
- Action: Enter the part (30) in the first box and the total (200) in the second box.
- Result: The tool gives you the percentage.
3. X is Y% of what? (Find Total) 🔍
Use this to solve reverse problems, like figuring out the original price before a discount or tax was applied.
- Example: A $30 commission payment represents 15% of the total project fee. What was the total fee?
- Action: Enter the part ($30) in the first box and the percentage ($15) in the second box.
- Result: The tool finds the full amount.

Switch to the % Change tab to calculate the percent increase or decrease between two numbers. This is critical for tracking your fitness progress or investment returns.
- Action:
- Enter your Initial Value (the starting number, e.g., last month’s sales: $1,000).
- Enter your Final Value (the ending number, e.g., this month’s sales: $ 1,200).
- Result: Click Calculate Change. The tool instantly tells you the percentage difference and indicates if it was an Increase or Decrease . (In this case, a 20% increase).
