Exchange Rates Table

Why calculate one currency pair when you can see dozens at once? This tool, the Exchange Rates Table, does the heavy lifting for you. It shows you the live value of your chosen base currency (like Naira) against a whole list of others. No more opening ten tabs: just one easy table.

The Exchange Rate Table: Your Money View

Here is how to set it up perfectly in thirty seconds.

Three Steps to Customize Your View

This tool is powerful because you control the base amount and the filter. This lets you quickly assess a portfolio or compare regional currencies.

1. Set the Base Currency

  • Base Currency: This is the money you currently have or want to measure everything against. By default, it is the Nigerian Naira (NGN).
    • Action: Use the first dropdown menu to switch the base currency. For instance, if you have Euros and want to see how much of everything else that buys, select EUR (Euro).
  • Amount: This is how much of your base currency you are measuring. It starts at 1, which shows the rate for a single unit.
    • Action: Change the number in the Amount box. If you want to see what 500 NGN converts to across the board, enter 500. The table updates instantly.

2. Apply the Region Filter

The Region Filter is a lifesaver. It cuts the noise and shows you only the currencies relevant to your goal.

  • Action: Use the third dropdown menu to choose a category.
    • Select African Currencies if you are trading across the continent.
    • Select Major Currencies if you only care about USD, GBP, and EUR.
    • Select All Currencies to see the full list.

3. Read the Results Table

The main table shows you four key columns:

  • Currency & Code: The name of the foreign currency and its three-letter code (like USD).
  • Rate: This is the current exchange rate. It shows you how many units of the foreign currency you get for 1 unit of your Base Currency.
  • Converted Amount: This is the final, most important number. It tells you exactly how much of that foreign currency you get for your Base Amount (the number you entered in Step 1). This green number is your actual purchasing power.

Don’t forget to click Refresh Rates to grab the newest data and make sure you are working with the latest market price.
