Days Until Confirmation Calculator
Probation period in Nigeria is psychological warfare. You’re employed but not really. You have a salary but they can let you go for literally anything. You’re excited about the job but also terrified they’ll say “sorry, it’s not working out” right before your three months end.
Every day you’re like “am I doing well? Do they like me? Is this the day they call me to HR?”
This calculator gives you peace:
Type in your employment start date. This is Day 1, the day you walked in nervous with your crisp new shirt and overly firm handshake. The day everything started.
Next, select your probation period. Most Nigerian companies do three months (90 days). Some do two months, some do six months (especially banks and fintech). If your contract says something specific, select “Custom” and type it in.
Click “Calculate Progress” and breathe.
Days Until Confirmation
Track your probation period progress
What you get: For Everyone Still on Probation
A beautiful circular progress bar showing your percentage completion. When you see “23% Complete” you know you’re just getting started. When you see “78% Complete” you can start relaxing a bit because you’ve made it this far.
The calculator also shows Days Elapsed (how many you’ve survived), Days Remaining (how many more you need to survive), and your Expected Confirmation Date (the day they should officially tell you “you’re permanent now”).
The encouragement messages are everything:
At 25%, it says “just getting started, show them what you’ve got.” At 50%, “halfway there, you’re doing great.” At 90%, “almost there, the finish line is in sight.” These messages matter when you’re in your head overthinking every email you sent.
Real advice: Check this calculator every Monday. Use it to pace yourself. If you’re at 40% and you’ve already used all your leave days, that’s a red flag. If you’re at 80% and nobody has mentioned your confirmation yet, that’s your cue to gently ask HR “so, about my confirmation…”
Stay informed. Stay ready. Get confirmed.
