Daily Spending Power Calculator
You know that feeling when your salary drops and by day 10 of the month you’re already rationing rice and checking if you can survive on garri?
This calculator breaks down your actual daily spending power so you stop lying to yourself about being “financially stable.”
It’s basically your money therapist, showing you exactly how much you can spend per day without going broke before month end.
How to use it:
Step 1: Enter your total monthly income. Be honest. Add everything, your salary, side hustle, that thing you do on weekends. All of it.
Step 2: Enter your fixed monthly expenses. Rent, light bill (NEPA is a criminal organization), internet, transport to work, that monthly subscription you forgot to cancel. Everything you must pay.
Step 3: Add your monthly savings goal. Yes, you need to save. Even if it’s just ₦10,000. Future you is begging.
Step 4: Check the box if you only want to count weekdays (Monday to Friday). This helps if you try to “behave” on weekdays and live life on weekends.
Step 5: Click “Calculate My Daily Power”

Understanding your results: Find Out How Broke You Really Are
The big number at the top is your daily budget. That’s how much you can spend per day without going into overdraft territory.
Below that, you’ll see a breakdown:
- Morning budget (how much for breakfast and morning vibes)
- Afternoon budget (lunch money basically)
- Evening budget (dinner and after-work hangout)
- Weekly budget (helpful for weekend planning)
The insight box:
At the bottom, the calculator gives you a reality check on your savings rate and expense ratio. If you’re saving less than 10%, it will gently drag you. If your expenses are eating 80% of your income, you’ll see it in black and white.
Example that will shock you:
Income: ₦250,000 Fixed expenses: ₦150,000 (rent, bills, transport) Savings goal: ₦30,000 Weekdays only: Checked
Daily budget: ₦3,181 per day
That’s ₦1,060 per meal if you split it three ways. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. All for ₦1,060 each.
Suddenly that ₦2,000 brunch or ₦3,500 shawarma looks different. That’s your entire day’s budget in one meal.
Real talk:
This calculator doesn’t judge, but it will humble you. You can’t spend ₦5,000 on drinks with the guys when your daily budget is ₦3,000. The math won’t math.
What to do:
Use this daily number as your guide. If you want to spend more some days, you have to spend less on other days. Or increase your income. Or reduce your fixed costs. But you can’t just hope and pray your way through the month.
