Ad Placement Heat Score
Ad placement is like real estate: location, location, location. Putting your ad in the wrong spot means you are losing clicks, and therefore, money. This calculator is a crystal ball: it predicts your potential Click-Through Rate (CTR) based on where you plan to put your ads. It shows you which spots are “hot” and which are “not.”

🔥 Ad Placement Heat Score: Find Your Money Spots
Step 1: Map Your Page Layout
The tool divides your web page into three main profit zones. Think of this as choosing seats for a concert: closer to the action, the better the view (and the CTR).
- Header Area (Above the Fold): The spots users see instantly.
- Mid-Content Area: The prime real estate, where users are actively reading.
- Footer Area: The spots seen right before the user navigates away.
Go through the list and check the boxes for every ad unit you currently have, or plan to put, on your page. Be honest about your layout.
Step 2: Calculate Your Score
Once you select your placements, hit the “Calculate Heat Score” button. The tool immediately spits out two core pieces of info:
- Overall Placement Score: This number, out of 10, is your quality grade. A score of 9 or 10 is awesome, meaning you picked high-performing spots.
- Predicted CTR Range: This is the money shot. It gives you a percentage range (e.g., 2.5% to 3.2%) of the CTR you can expect with that exact combination of ad spots.
This tells you if your current setup is getting you a solid “A” or a disappointing “C.”
Step 3: Optimize with the Breakdown
Scroll down to the Placement Breakdown and Optimization Tips sections. This is the coaching you need:
- Breakdown: Every selected ad unit gets its own score, usually out of 10, and a predicted CTR. You will notice that spots like “After Introduction” or “In-Feed Native Ads” score the highest: these are your profit champions.
- Tips: The tool provides specific, actionable advice. If you have too many ads in the Header, it tells you to pull back. If you skipped In-Feed ads, it reminds you they are an easy win.
Tip: If your score is low, try unchecking the low-scoring boxes (like Sidebar Rectangle) and replacing them with high-scoring content ads. Then, calculate again to see your predicted CTR rise. It is simple math that leads to more revenue.
